Summer Internship

The Koukouzelis Institute offers a summer internship for those looking to expand their knowledge and skills within the Byzantine Music tradition.

Hosted by Koukouzelis Institute director, John Michael Boyer, the Koukouzelis summer internship provides liturgically grounded mentorship through intensive music training and frequent services at Holy Trinity Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This unique program is geared toward chanters already fluent in Byzantine music theory, with significant experience in the liturgical life of the church. Building on already established skills, lessons will polish the student’s performance technique in advanced repertoire, theory, conducting, and composition.

Due to housing limitations, this program is currently open only to male chanters. If you are a female chanter interested in this program, contact John Michael Boyer to inquire about available living arrangements.
